Blocked Footpaths

Any obstruction to footpaths in the countryside should be reported to North Somerset Council who have responsibility for keeping good access to these.

A good clear photo may be attached to the email and a clear indication of where the “blockage”  is the best way to get it dealt with promptly (ideally a GPS reading or map coordinates, footpath number or description).

A “Blockage”  may be due to overgrowth, broken stile, barbed wire or other fencing which prohibits reasonable access.  Not all footpaths are accessible by all,  but stiles should not be too high or difficult to climb.

Various walking groups do go out path clearing (voluntarily) and are always pleased for offers of help.
